Niseko – Localeyes Exhibition
Last night – Fri Sept 17 – was the second gallery/bbq event at our gallery in Hirafu. The event titled “Localeyes” was a great success, with around 50 people coming through the gallery to check out the exhibition. This exhibition was by Paul Malandain, a local nature and landscape photographer with a love of HDR imagining.
High dynamic range imaging (HDRI or just HDR) is a set of techniques that allow a greater dynamic range of luminances between the lightest and darkest areas of an image. Far greater than standard digital imaging techniques or photographic methods. A lot of people commented that Paul’s images sometimes look like paintings or illustrations rather than just photos. More info about HDR imaging
The Sekka crew put on a super BBQ spread and 300 yen Otaru beers which was definitely a crowd pleaser! Food was an American style BBQ and a plate of food for Y1000 was almost more than you could eat!
We will keep the exhibition open until October when we close the gallery for a re-fit in time for winter. The next exhibition will be in November, check theSpudGun regularly for updates. For anyone still wanting to purchase images please drop by the gallery an take a look, thanks to everyone who bought something on the night, we hope they find a home on your walls!
As a last minute inclusion to the evening Yoshi and Yas showed their new DVD which they shot last winter. Copies of this are about Y3000 and all of the footage is local Hokkaido back country! Drop by the Niseko Photography gallery to check it out and pick up a copy.
The night went pretty much like this… PLAY – Localeyes Exhibition timelapse.
